I have been training people for about 15 years. Most of my experience came from training my Marines and working with those who did not meet the height and weight standards. I have completed many courses in the DoD where fitness and nutrition were a big focus. From there, my experience grew by training friends and their spouses who may not be in the military. This is when I developed my love of fitness. It is one thing to see your Marine make progress, but to see someone who is not surrounded by fitness make tremendous progress was intoxicating. When I retired from the USMC, I decided to pursue a career in personal training, and I got my CPT through NASM. I worked in a local gym for 3 years. I started as a personal trainer, and then I was promoted to the Personal Training Manager. After a year, I was promoted again to the General Manager. As I climbed the ladder in my position, I was getting further away from my passion. I decided to leave that position and create "Joe's Sweatshop." I train people online and in person for local clients.
